Chat Groups provide opportunities for you to practise using English in conversation or discussion with English speakers. Some activities also provide opportunities to practise reading and listening for input into later discussions.

Through regular and active participation in Chat Groups, you should be able to:

  • Develop your fluency
  • Express your opinions
  • Respond appropriately to the opinions of others
  • Support your views with reference to personal experience or general knowledge
  • Expand your vocabulary
  • Reflect on your learning

Chat Groups take place in the English Language Self-Access Centre (LI 4240). Each session is 50 minutes. Registration is required, but walk-ins are also welcome as long as places are available.
